Regional Networking Gatherings for Community Health Workers - SESSION 1
Event Information
Description
Thank you for your interest in networking events for Nebraska Community Health Workers! This is a free event.
These meetings are intended for individuals serving as non-licensed, non-clinical, front line workers in the community and who are seeking to improve health outcomes for individuals, families or groups. Community health workers have many job titles.
These meetings are not intended for administrators, or currently licensed personnel such as nurses, social workers, or mental health professionals.
IMPORTANT DISCLOSURE: Please read the following information prior to registration.
The events are sponsored by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Title V Maternal and Child Health Program, and hosted by five local public health departments statewide. There are no commercial interests represented in these events. (No one is making money or selling anything.)
The purpose of the events is to:
- offer networking and learning opportunities for Community Health Workers statewide;
- better understand the Community Health Worker “voice” and role in improving population health in Nebraska;
- promote the role of the Community Health Worker as a valued and respected member of interdisciplinary care teams in community and clinical settings; and
- provide an opportunity to identify the needs, interests, and preferences of Community Health Workers as the workforce continues to develop.
The Center for Reducing Health Disparities (CRHD) is another partner in making the events happen. CRHD staff will facilitate the discussion and activities of each session.
It is important to all partners that Community Health Workers are informed of our purpose and process.
- When you register, your privacy will be protected and individual information you provide will not be shared.
- After registration, we will send you a link to an optional survey so we can learn more about our audience.
- At the events CRHD will explain that the meetings will involve lots of discussion from Community Health Workers. Your contributions at the events will only occur with your informed consent.
- When CRHD takes information away from the events, your privacy will be protected.
