What are Regional Issues Days?
Regional Issues Days is an annual event Arizona Serve puts on in order to better educate our members about the issues they’re working to address. We do this by inviting local community leaders that have knowledge in a variety of subjects concerning poverty in Tucson to speak with you. Many of you are new to Tucson and these days of training will give you a better idea of what poverty in Tucson means, make you further aware of the value of your service, and help you better connect with your new home.
Attendance for Members:
All VISTA members are required to attend Regional Issues Day Trainings. If you have a prior commitment at your service site that you must attend, or a family emergency, you may request an Excused Absence from me by responding to firstname.lastname@example.org with your reason for the request.
All AmeriCorps State members are invited to attend, but are not required to attend. This is an opportunity to grow your professional network and understanding of real issues that our communities face right here in Southern Arizona, so we highly encourage your attendance.
