About this Event

Love reggae music? Join us for an intimate reggae listening party and curated conversation about the history and impact of reggae music around the world.

Reggae, a style of popular music originating in Jamaica in the late 1960s, quickly emerged as the country's dominant music. By the 1970s it had become an international style that was particularly popular in Britain, the United States, and Africa.

Ethnomusicologist and Sirius XM broadcaster, Dermot Hussey (Channel 42, The -Joint) and reggae historian, Dera Tompkins, will guide you through an in-depth conversation followed by light, Jamaican refreshments.
