Event description

Description

You are invited by Kick Start Arts to this world premiere and fundraising event for The Regent Park Project, a free film-making initiative for youth from Regent Park and beyond.

Over time we have worked to create a community of young film-makers - building their capacity as actors, creators of content, and crew, along-side top professionals from the industry. This event is the world premiere of the first season of a web series we have created collaboratively with the youth-participants. We are screening the 8 episodes (about 5 minutes each), and hosting a moderated 'talk back' with the participants. The films explore issues of community, friendship, policing, racism, and culture clashes - all originating from the 'lived experiences' of the participants.

We hope you can attend, and help us meet our fundraising goals so we can continue the wonderful work we have started. Kick Start Arts is a not-for-profit. We can accept sponsorships. If you wish to make a charitable donation so you receive a tax receipt - that can be done through the Regent Park Film Festival - our host organization for this initiative.

For more information - please email: info@kickstartarts.com or visit our web site: www.KickStartArts.com

We would like to acknowledge Boat Rocker Media - our sponsor, The Toronto Arts Council - who has supported us with grants, and The Regent Park Film Festival, our Host Organization.
