Refugee Awareness for Enhanced Service Delivery
Tue, November 15, 2016, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM MST
Refugee Awareness for Enhanced Service Delivery is a project partnership between the Multicultural Health Brokers Co-operative and the Centre for Race and Culture to provide accurate and comprehensive information about refugees to host communities. This full day workshop will support individuals and organizations in understanding the pre-migration experiences of refugees, offer practical tools for working with refugee families and provide ideas for creating welcoming and inclusive environments that ensure sustainable and successful resettlement of refugees from Syria. This workshop is facilitated by Nega Jalal, a skilled facilitator who came to Canada as a refugee and is also currently working at the New Syrian Centre, a centre developed for supporting Syrian refugees in Edmonton.
Please note that lunch for this workshop is not provided.
