Lessons in Leadership: Competing with Creativity

Featuring Mark King - Innovation Expert and Former President of adidas,
North America

King will share how to inspire a workforce of creativity and confidence to create things consumers won’t believe are possible by coming to work with big dreams, vision, and energy.

About Mark King

Mark King is a turnaround expert. As the former president of adidas North America, Mark led the turnaround of the brand, driving market share growth and creating a new energy for the business and culture. In 2016, Yahoo! named adidas “Sports Business of the Year,” and Mark was named “Person of the Year” by Footwear News and “Executive of the Year” by the Portland Business Journal. And, this isn’t his first rodeo. Prior to adidas, Mark catapulted the TaylorMade business, growing it from $300 million to more than $1.7 billion in sales during his time as President and CEO.

Leadership: Taking Charge

Featuring Gen. Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret.) - Secretary of State (2001-2005)

Drawing on examples garnered from experience as a leader on the world stage, Powell illustrates precisely what it takes to be a leader, providing strategies for “taking charge” during times of great change and great crisis.

About Gen. Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret.)

A man of intelligence, versatility, and presence, General Colin Powell served as the first African-American chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and was appointed Secretary of State by President George W. Bush—becoming, at that time, the most powerful African-American ever to hold office in the U.S. A four-star general, Powell’s numerous awards include two Presidential Medals of Freedom, and he is the author of his best-selling autobiography, “My American Journey.” His second book, an instant New York Times best seller titled “It Worked for Me,” reveals the lessons that shaped his life and career. As someone who crafted and articulated the U.S. position on the world stage, Powell provides insight on efforts to stabilize a troubled world and the diplomatic and leadership skills needed to transform unstable regions into areas where societies and cultures flourish.
