Description

Workshop Name:
Reflexology for Home and Private Practice: The Basics

Course Desciption:

This is a 14 hour course to introduce the basic methods and tools of reflexology. Reflexology can be used in your home to help your family feel more relaxed, and create bonding. Reflexology is also a wonderful compliment to any massage or bodywork practitioners existing practice. It is easily integrated, or can be used for a full session. Participants in this workshop will learn the 4 basic tools of reflexology, relaxation techniques (desserts), and how to build a basic routine to work on family, friends, or clients.

Participants will learn thumb walking, finger walking, pin-pointing, and hook-and-back-up techniques that make reflexology a unique modality. These four basic techniques will be applied to the feet. Participants will also learn 6 relaxation techniques to help transition from one area of the foot to another area of the foot, and warm the tissues.

Participants will learn a basic map of reflexology for the foot, and how to use the techniques to work the reflexive areas of the foot. The course will also cover the primary and secondary benefits of reflexology, as well as a very brief historical overview.

By the end of the workshop participants will have the tools to create a 15 minute, 30 minute, and 60 minute sessions for family, friends, and clients.

Students will be evaluated through hands-on demonstration, verbal recitation, and a written post-test during class.

Continuing education credits are being applied for through the MN Chiropractic Board, NCBMTB, and the ARCB. CEU's are not guaranteed.

Space is limited to ensure plenty of 1:1 attention from the instructor and teaching assistants.

Participants are expected to attend the entire workshop. If there is a family emergency or life emergency, a student may be excused early. If a student misses 2 hours or less of the workshop, an assignment will be provided by the instructor(s) to make up the time missed. This assignment must be turned in 3 months, at the latest, once it is received by the participant. The participant is responsible for completing all aspects of the assignment in order to receive full credit for the time missed. Partial credit will not be assigned. Once the assignment is received and reviewed by the instructor(s), the student will receive their certificate of completion for the workshop. A fee of $75.00 will be assessed to process assignments.

If a student misses more than 2 hours of the workshop, they may do the assignment to make up the missed 2 hours, but will not be able to make up additional time.
