Reflective Practice: Relationships for Growth

This training session will provide an introduction to Reflective Practice for birth to five provider community Participants will be learn the basic assumptions of reflective practice as related to emotional management, trauma triggers associated with working with vulnerable children and the concept of parallel process. Attendees will practice the use of reflective questions to understand more deeply or mentalize the mind of the other.

Following this training participants will be able to:

 

  1. Describe the basic assumptions of reflective practice
  2. Explain the need for emotional regulation in order to stay present in relationship and demonstrate empathy
  3. Demonstrate the ability to use reflective questions in order to facilitate mentalizing and deeper intrapersonal understanding in the other
  4. Define the importance of culture in all relationship and necessary to create both reflection and emotional healing
  5. Name the primary reflective practice values that guide the work
  6. Describe the concept of parallel process

 

Location: St. Anne's - Foundation Room, 155 N. Occidental Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90026

Parking:  Onsite Parking - $6 and limited street parking 

Check-in, continental breakfast begin at 8:30am; Training from 9:00am - 4:00pm

Continental Breakfast and boxed lunch provided.


Continuing Education Credits: up to 6 credits available for PSY, MFT, and LCSW's

APA: Children’s Institute, Inc. is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Children’s Institute, Inc. maintains responsibility for this program and its content.  The California Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) now recognizes APA continuing education credit for license renewal for LCSWs and MFTs.

 

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY:

By registering for this training the agency is liable for the registration fee, which is fully refundable up to October 8, 2018. Registration is transferrable prior to the start of the training.  Once the training begins, fees are non-refundable/transferrable and no partial refunds will be given.
