Description
Participants in this workshop with MK Czerwiec (aka "Comic Nurse") will make drawings and create comics that demonstrate the practice and potential role of graphic medicine in their professional and personal explorations of health, illness, disability, and caregiving. Through small and large group discussion, brainstorming, and questioning, participants will consider and adapt the methodologies and methods of graphic medicine to be most useful to their particular educational and care provision environments. Participants will also be provided follow-up resources and tools with which to deepen and develop their own practice and use graphic medicine methodologies in the future.
NOTE: Czerwiec will be giving a talk in 1121 Signe Skott Cooper Hall from 1-2pm entitled, “Building a Culture of Wellness: Can Comics Improve Our Health?” The lecture is free and open to the public and no registration is required to attend.
