Humanities New York invites you to converse with a dynamic panel of writers, artists, and community organizers as we examine the role social movements have played in American history and that they continue to play in the present moment.


Panelists include:
Alexandra Bell, Multidisciplinary Artist.
Brittney Cooper, Associate Professor of Women's and Gender Studies at Rutgers University.
Ibram Kendi, Professor of History and International Relations at American University and recipient of the 2016 National Book Award for Nonfiction.
Kei Williams, Organizer-in-Residence at Civic Hall; Community Organizer with Black Lives Matter NYC.
Moderated by Deva Woodly, Assistant Professor of Politics at the New School.
