We are glad you’re interested in us for networking. After being introduced by your member host, please introduce yourself, the name of your business, and tell us, in about 30 seconds, what you do. Please do not request referrals at your first visit. Requesting and receiving referrals is a benefit of membership. Upon acceptance into the South Bay Executives you will be asked to make a presentation about your business including more details about what you do and what would be a good referral for you. Today you will hear a presentation by one of our South Bay Executives.
WHAT IS SBE?
The South Bay Executives Network (SBE) is an organization that was founded in September of 1991. SBE is composed of businesses in the South Bay and surrounding area. Each member is a key executive. The sole function of this network is to increase sales of goods and services through an exchange of business information (Leads/Referrals) for the mutual benefit of all.
HOW DOES SBE BENEFIT ITS MEMBERS?
Members become part of a close-knit organization whose main purpose is helping fellow members increase business volume. Referrals, contacts, and leads are exchanged, as is mutual business from members, their employees, and families. The volume of business each member receives is in direct proportion to the number of leads and quality of information given.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Regular meetings are held the 1st Tuesday at 6:01pm of each month at Omega Restaurant 90 S. Park Victoria Milpitas, for the exchange of leads and information. The program consists of a presentation by a member, explaining the history of their firm, what leads/referrals are valuable to them and how fellow members can be of help. The Board of Directors, elected by the membership, handles the business of the organization.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME?
As a top executive of your firm, you will have several responsibilities to your fellow members:
* To discover and pursue ways you can assist fellow members
* To encourage and solicit business from member firms
* To furnish leads and contacts and to act on those received
* To recommend member firms to your own business associates, employees and friends
* To recommend other firms for membership in SBE
* To attend as many of the meetings as possible. If unable to attend members are asked to call the Secretary prior to the meeting.
* To participate in special events.
HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?
The organization is exclusive. Membership is by invitation only and is limited to one firm in each business or professional category. You may request a questionnaire and formal application from the Secretary. The Secretary must present your questionnaire, application, and fee to the Board. You may visit twice before submitting your application. Upon acceptance, you will be inducted at the next regularly scheduled meeting.
