In the film, It’s More Expensive to Do Nothing, director Alan Swyer and Humane Exposures Films bring together a compelling range of voices—including experts in the field and criminology, treatment provides, and ex-offenders who’ve turned their lives around—to take a penetrating look at America’s struggling justice system. Without minimizing the challenges, It’s More Expensive to Do Nothing, offers a clear message: Cutbacks can be disastrous. Remediation for nonviolent offenders can trigger miracles. Proactive intervention will reduce recidivism, saving substantial public funds and benefitting the individual and society as a whole. Room 1.
