Event description

Description

On October 18, 2017, the City of Reno is launching an ambitious program—REENERGIZE RENO—to improve the efficiency of commercial, industrial and multifamily buildings 20% by 2025. Investments in cost-effective building efficiency strategies will stimulate innovation, bolster our economy, promote a healthy environment, and create highly skilled jobs within the community.

Please join us at this event featuring Mayor Schieve and Councilmember Bobzien, along with leading CEOs, university leaders, state and local government leaders, building owners, and multifamily housing developers who are taking action to improve building efficiency while expanding economic growth and improving our competitiveness as a forward-thinking city.

You’ll hear from Director of the U.S. Department of Energy Better Buildings Challenge Maria Vargas, as well as other speakers and our local elected leaders, while enjoying refreshments and light appetizers.

REENERGIZE RENO is part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Better Buildings Challenge, designed to cut energy waste in large buildings. Reno joins 45 pioneering cities working to boost local economies and reduce climate pollution by committing our municipal portfolio of buildings to the Challenge, and hosting a community-wide Challenge.
