Palestinian singer and activist Reem Kelani (www.reemkelani.com) was born in Manchester, brought up in Kuwait and lives in London. Her recently released second album “Reem Kelani: Live at the Tabernacle” follows her 2006 classic “Sprinting Gazelle – Palestinian Songs from the Motherland and the Diaspora”. Reem is a member of the Anti-Capitalist Roadshow collective. She also wrote and presented “Songs for Tahrir” for BBC Radio 4 about her experiences in Tahrir Square. Reem has been a regular visitor to Cambridge over the years, and has given concerts and workshops in local schools.
We present this concert in association with Cambridge Palestine Solidarity Campaign and Cambridge University Palestine Society.
For her performance at St Paul’s, Reem will be accompanied by the masterful Bruno Heinen on piano.
