Event description

Description

Reel Issues is a community screening series. These events bring people together to view documentaries, films, and art pieces that aim to educate the greater Worcester community on issues that impact our lives and encourage conversations that lead to action.

What we're viewing this night:

The Story of Stuff - an animated look at the lifecycle of material goods.

Plastic China - a documentary that looks at the life of 11-year-old Yi-Jie and her family as they live and work in a household recycling plant.

Part of our Trash Talk cycle, this screening hopes to draw connections from the stuff we throw away and the impact it has on the lives of people like Yi-Jie and our planet as a whole. As Worcester wrestles with issues around waste and recycling, we hope to gain insight and education from these films and start conversations that activate members of the community to take action and play a role in realizing impact-driven growth and change.

Please feel free to bring beverages and snacks of your choosing (BYOB) - we will provide some refreshments, but supplies will be limited based on attendance. Come join us for network building and learning in a space built to inspire new ideas and catalyze innovation in the heart of the Commonwealth!
