‘Reduce Injury, Increase Performance: Runners Workshop'

Runners of all levels, Personal Trainers, Coaches & Therapists keen to learn evidence based, practical ways to manage running related injury & reduce risk of occurrence.
Despite what many runners are told everyday, the precise cause of much running related injury is still unclear. How it is that runners with the same shape, size, mechanics and training volume can react so differently to the demands of running casts a large shadow over the question of how to 'prevent' injury. With an awful lot of contradiction and false promises out there for runners, managing injury and reducing risk can be confusing and frustrating task.
'Reduce Injury, Increase Performance' is a three hour workshop designed to help runners identify the the myths and misconceptions that currently fill the world of running injury management & prevention. With an emphasis on practical self management, topics covered will include:
• What components should appear in a warm up & cool down?
• What type of strength training should I be doing?
• How useful is stretching for injury prevention?
• How much pain should I put up with when running?
• How important is footwear?
• Should I be worried if I heel strike?
• Do I need to increase my cadence?
• How relevant is biomechanics?

Is there an age requirement or fitness level to participate?
Attendees need to be a minimum of 18 years of age. The practical component of the workshop can be modified to suit any fitness level.
What should I wear?
Some the practical element of this workshop may be outdoors so BRING WARM LAYERS as well as your running gear.
Cancellations & Refunds
Full refunds can be requested up to a month before the event. After that, only 50% can be returned. No refunds can be given in the 2 weeks before an event.
