Event description
To commemorate the 100 year anniversary of his death, a group of musicians perform selected vocal works of American composer Charles Griffes

About this Event

Charles T. Griffes is one of the influential members of American musical history, but rarely do many musicians in today's age recognise or even know who he is.

In partnership with the Song in the City Charity Trust, a group of students from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama have taken up the task to reacquaint today's musicians with this prolific composer. Over the last few months the group have been unearthing and recording the entirety of his art song repertoire, all in order to honour this composer short life and career.

Please consider joining these musicians as they revive the works of this composer, and to put Charles Griffes in his rightful place next to the other American greats.
