Event Details

In the Summer of 2013, a group of leading legal scholars published the landmark statement, “Evangelicals and Catholics Together on Law: The Lord of Heaven and Earth.” Inspired by Evangelicals and Catholics Together, led by the late Richard John Neuhaus and Chuck Colson, the statement combines the best of evangelical and catholic theological thinking about law, justice, and social & political authority in light of biblical revelation. Yet what does the statement mean for lawyers in their day-to-day practices? What kind of counter-cultural legal policies or practices might be called for?

Join as on Tuesday, February 25 for the faith and law forum. Michael Schutt, author of the book Redeeming Law (IVP Academic, 2007) and Director of the Institute for Christian Legal Studies at Regent University, will discuss the “The Lord of Heaven and Earth” and its practical implications for a wide range of legal practices today. Following Michael’s presentation will be a panel discussion of local Colorado lawyers and small working groups that will allow participants to work out potential action steps in community.
