Virgie Pink Henry, the Pink family matriarch, walked 2 miles daily with the Tom Bass Walkers for over 30 plus years in honor of good health and wellness. Jan and Sam Pink have challenged participants to join Red Cat for Pink in a 30-day challenge and walk two miles everyday starting September 28, 2016 and ending in a Grand Finale at Red Cat for Pink 2 mile walk at Tom Bass Park on October 29, 2016. “Walking is the single best exercise that is recommended on a large scale,” says Jan Pink, Executive Director for Red Cat for Pink! This is a national public health campaign created by Red Cat Jazz Preservation Society.
“The simplest exercise prescription is walking. Aunt Virgie lived 100 years because she adopted "Walking" as a priority in her lifestyle. Because of her dedication and determination to Walk and be Healthy, I thought this walk should be a tribute to her and the legacy she created and left behind." says Sam Pink, founder of Red Cat Jazz Preservation Society.
