Recruiting and Managing Autistic Professionals
Wed, April 26, 2017, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM BST
Autism is a serious, lifelong and disabling condition affecting more than 700,000 people in the UK. Without the right support, it can have a profound - sometimes devastating - effect on individuals and their families.
Autism is a hidden disability, you can't always tell if someone is autistic. Only 16% of autistic adults in the UK are in full-time paid employment. This is incredibly saddening, but there are things we can all do to improve this situation...
Would you know how to support an autistic colleague?
Would you know how to promote the confidence of an autistic professional who you are interviewing for a job?
Do you know the laws surrounding making 'reasonable adjustments' in the workplace for disabled workers?
Sunshine Recruitment is delighted to host a workshop delivered by Autism East Midlands, back by popular demand after our hugely successful and commonly talked-about workshop in 2016.
You will learn more about:
Traits and indicators of anxiety, to help in the management of expectations
How to help reduce anxiety in interviews
Strategies and ideas for making 'reasonable adjustments' in the work place
How to ensure your business remains lawful during the employment process
The event will be hugely interactive, we welcome discussions throughout the workshop to ensure experiences are shared and everyone benefits from learning about real-life situations to help them in the future.
Places are limited; the workshop is in huge demand and so we are afraid once tickets are gone they're gone... But please Email us if this the case, and we will add you to a waiting list for the next workshop: firstname.lastname@example.org
