Description

SAMHSA’s Bringing Recovery Supports to Scale Technical Assistance Center Strategy (BRSS TACS) invites you to join national experts in a conversation about recommendations for engaging people from Hispanic and Latino communities in treatment and recovery services that are culturally responsive.

Providing strengths-based services that recognize and respond to the ways in which people’s cultural identities shape experiences of mental illness, substance use disorder, treatment, and recovery can help to narrow the treatment gap by increasing engagement and retention in services (Tse et al., 2016).

Presenters will share their experiences providing services to individuals and families from Hispanic and Latino communities. They will also discuss how programs can be more responsive to the culturally diverse needs of the Hispanic and Latino community to improve engagement and retention in services.

Join us for this free, interactive virtual event, moderated by BRSS TACS Deputy Director Steven Samra.

Presenters:

Diliana DeJesús, Deputy Director, Casa Esperanza, Inc.

Jamie Bailey, Peer Recovery Support Specialist, Project Vida/Recovery Alliance of El Paso

Luis Rosales, Executive Director, Trilogy Recovery Community
