Recording for Asynchronous Learning

You have taught in-person but now you would like to be able to provide media-based content to your online audience or prepare for self-paced instruction? Look towards recording and developing stand alone material for learners to interact and engage with. Join us to discover the different methods of media creation and revamp your synchronous course into an asynchronous environment.

Let’s review ASU’s available licensed technology for media recording such as Zoom, Screencast-o-matic (SOM), and SnagIt. Learn to edit and upload to online streaming platforms. Then deploy them for easy access and viewing through Canvas.

Target Audience: ASU Educators and Designers interested in digitizing or recording current class material into a media format. Some experience using Zoom features is suggested but not required. Prior to joining, it is recommended to download Screencast-o-matic to experience the tool together. SnagIt is only available for ASU devices through the Self-Service application, so downloading it is optional.
