Check out theNational Council on Student Development (NCSD) recorded webinar entitled, Connecting with the Virtual Student.

As online education programs continue to grow and mature, research repeatedly points to the presence of student support services as a method to encourage student success. Specifically focusing on experiences with online learning students, we will show how the Extended Learning Institute at Northern Virginia Community College provides student services to engage and build relationships with our students. Using statistics and personal experiences we will help higher education practitioners understand how to incorporate online orientation, student life programs, and social media presence to promote overall student engagement and success.

After participating in this webinar, attendees will be able to effectively:

  •  Demonstrate the use of orientation programs, student life events and student success coaching to engage the online student population.
  • Identify effective ways of engaging online learning students both academically and socially through the utilization of student support services.
  • Identify ways to connect online learning students utilizing technologies available at their institution.
