Event description

Description

Join us for a day exploring Joanna Macy's Work that Reconnects, a powerful set of practices that allow us to face our fear and despair, and move through them to a renewed sense of connection and solidarity with all life. This day, at Songaia Cohousing in Bothell, is specifically focused on anti-oppression applications of the Work that Reconnects in the time of Trump. We begin from the understanding that we must work to heal the legacies of colonization, slavery and patriarchy that have brought us to this point where our country's culture and leaders are a threat to all life on earth. We move from there to explore the deeply connected web of life, to explore our own blind spots and hurts, and to knit together a truly resilient community of resistance. Childcare is available for those who need it, and this day is offered in the gift economy. The facilitation team includes one white woman and one woman of color; folx of color please feel free to reach out to learn more about us and our approach.
