Event description

Description

In 2018, Elizabeth Rees, founder of Chasing Paper, opened a beautiful Walker’s Point space with the intention to create community where entrepreneurs and brands can build thriving businesses. The space hosts photo shoots, workshops, speaking engagements, and retail pop-ups.

We are delighted to curate Third Branch’s new wellness initiative, and will host Milwaukee women-- on our NEW rescheduled date, Wednesday, March 27th-- for an evening of compassionate mind-body practices, community building, and previews of wellness programming at Third Branch Creative Studio.

We envision a world where mindfulness and compassion are the foundation for reconnecting with ourselves and others. Come join us for an evening of reconnection!

Warmly,

Amelia and Angela

Our Curators

Dr. Angela Rose Black (@angelaroseblackphd) is an activist, thought leader, and practitioner in the mindfulness movement. Named by Mindful.org as one of the "10 Powerful Women of the Mindfulness Movement” and TIME magazine as “The New Mindfulness”, Dr. Black brings racial justice to mindfulness initiatives and mindfulness to racial justice initiatives. Through her organization, Mindfulness for the People (@mindfulnessforthepeople), she radically re-imagines a mindfulness movement that meets the needs of our emotional relationship with race.

Amelia Coffaro (@ameliacoffaro) teaches adaptive yoga & mindfulness as ways to manage, prevent and heal from illness. After experiencing a rare form of breast cancer at age 27, she created an offering rooted in self compassion to meet the unique needs of people experiencing illness. She believes in sharing mind body practices with young women to make empowered choices in their well being, and is passionate about integrating wellness into health care and creative communities. Her work has been in NPR, TIME and Elle among others. Amelia currently advises on a Harvard study using mind body practice with young adult cancer survivors.
