Event description

Description

"Sk'elep Reconciliation" and "Indigenize It" are offering a workshop, hosted at Salmon n’ Bannock Bistro on Thrusday, May 31st, 2018 at 6pm-9pm. Join us for stories and teachings with distinguished guest Dr. Jann Derrick. Jann is of Mohawk ancestry and has presented workshops and trainings throughout Canada and internationally in the USA, Australia and New Zealand.

Talking Points:

1) What is the "Millennium Scoop" ?

2) Why are Indigenous children/youth over represented in fostercare?

3) What does fostercare have to do with land?

4) How can I make a difference as an ally?

The feast honors Indigenous knowledges and our continued history of preparing traditional foods as medicine to nourish your mind, body, emotions and spirit.
