Event description

Description

How are organisations embracing diversity in a changing world? How can we address the challenges of tomorrow and draw inspiration from the talent in today’s workplace? It’s a topic we are passionate about at Zopa, as a company right at the intersection of data, technology, and finance – traditionally not the most diverse of industries.

Join us at the Zopa HQ on 12th December for the first in what will hopefully be a long series of thought-provoking, inspiring, and positive events aimed at women in technology and/or finance (as well as those interested in joining the sector!).

We will explore issues from the perspective of gender diversity, especially in technology-driven fields and functions, like software engineering, product management, or business analysis. Come and hear unique perspectives from leaders in their fields on their experiences, inspirations, frustrations, and how they see the future.

Topics and speakers for this first ever event to be announced. In any case, you will meet lots of inspiring women in technology and hear some real talk from women who’ve been there, done that.

What’s the format?

It’s simple. We’re beginning our series with:

18.00-18.30: Arrival and networking

18.30-18.45: Key Note, Diana Biggs, Head of Business Model Innovation at HSBC

18.45-19.30: Panel discussion:

Alice Newton Rex – VP of Product, WorldRemit,

Arshia Gratiot – Founder and CEO at Third Space Auto Ltd,

Marie Steinthaler – Head of New Products, Zopa,

Myra Waiman – Founder and CEO, Infi-tex Ltd)

19.30-20.30: Networking (drinks and nibbles)

Who is welcome to attend?

While this free event is focused on women in technology, we are dedicated to creating an open, safe space for everyone, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion to participate and share their experiences, concerns, ideas and hopes for the future. In fact, the more diverse the participants, the better.

For the avoidance of any doubt, we will not tolerate harassment of any kind, such as offensive verbal comments, deliberate intimidation, sustained disruption of talks, etc.

This event is hosted by Zopa and in cooperation with AnitaB.org London. The London chapter of AnitaB.org is part of an international network of ABI.Local communities that provides a year-round platform for women in STEM to network, find inspiration, and advance their careers
