About this event
Support the Banneker School Foundation as we raise $557,200 to complete the restoration of a one-room schoolhouse where African-American children were educated in Parkville, MO from 1885-1902. Learn how you can sponsor one of the 5,572 bricks used to build the school and get others to join you!
Also, learn more about the history of the Banneker School and its role in Parkville from Guest Speaker, Timothy C. Westcott, Ph.D., who will give us a history lesson through his lecture, "Our Parkville: Our Transparent and Transformative Public Conversations of Truth."
Dr. Westcott is an Associate Professor of History; Chair, Department of History, Military History, Political Science and Interdisciplinary Studies; Associate University Archivist; Program Coordinator for the Disciplines of Anthropology and History; and Director, George S. Robb Centre for the Study of the Great War at Parkville University. Dr. Westcott also is the Guardian of the Banneker School Archives.
