Event description

Description

Music at St David’s presents local guitarists Duo Amaral in a program of Latin-American music, followed by the choral music celebrating anniversaries of Herbert Howells, sung by the Choir of St David’s.

The Recital and Evensong Series continues on October 15 and 4:30 pm with local guitarists Mia Pomerantz-Amaral and Jorge Amaral. The guitar duo presents a recital of Latin American music – the perfect accompaniment as the October nights grow colder! The Service of Evensong follows at 5:00 pm, in which the Choir of St David’s presents the otherworldly music of Herbert Howells, just two days shy of what would have been his 125th birthday. The program will include Howells’ anthem I Love All Beauteous Things and his setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis canticles for St. John’s College, Cambridge, the Collegium Sancti Johannis Cantabrigiense, composed in 1957.
