Recipe for Raising a Mensch: Jewish Relief Agency's 2019 Annual Event to End Hunger

Tuesday, December 3, 2019 | 6:00 PM | The Crystal Tea Room

Hosted by some our favorite JRA Ingredients:

Cara and Halle Levinson | Jennie Nerenberg, Bruce Dorsey & Family | Marc & Brett Felgoise and Family | Liz Shaid & Erika Perilstein | Jordana & Ben Cooperberg and Family | Hani & Dan Dressler and Family

For 19 years, the Jewish Relief Agency has been mobilizing the Jewish community to provide kosher food and caring smiles to those who do not have enough to eat. JRA is one of the largest providers of food relief in the Greater Philadelphia region. By delivering directly into the homes of over 6,000 recipients each month, we create a deeply rewarding experience for our volunteers and a sense of hope and care for those we serve.

This year, JRA’s gala is titled “Recipe for Raising a Mensch,” and we are celebrating the younger members of our community and the unique opportunity that JRA provides to instill in our children the values of generosity, empathy, and personal participation. At a time when America’s youth are increasingly focused on “selfies” and self-gratification, JRA provides activities for children to learn the importance and enjoyment of giving to others.

JRA’s Tiny Tots Program allows families with children ages 6 and under to participate in food distributions at a kid-friendly pace. JRA’s B’nai Mitzvah service project program has engaged 646 teens, making sharing and service a core part of their milestone year. JRA’s family food bag program delivers a special supplemental bag of food to recipients with children, where the bag is filled with nutritious foods meant for kids. Through these programs JRA encourages its youngest community members to participate, collaborate, and develop into the mensches that will lead us into the future.

Please partner with us in our fight against hunger and a shared commitment to helping those in need. No family should go to bed hungry. Your support will mean so much to so many.
