Event description

Description

Join the Recharge committee for a law library field trip and lunch! Tour a library and see a presentation on its resources and answers to commonly asked questions by librarians and patrons. Legal reference questions and queries about the judicial process can be daunting at the reference desk, whether you’re at a public, academic, or special library. Attend this event to learn how a law library’s resources might help you and your patrons.

Located within the Kane County Judicial Center, the Kane County Law Library & Self Help Legal Center is open to the public and provides access to digital and print resources for legal research. Staffed by a team of library professionals, the Kane County Law Library & Self Help Legal Center aims to "provide outstanding service, recognizing, supporting, and furthering open and equal access to legal and governmental information." Prairie State Legal Services and Administer Justice will also give short presentations on their services. Content of this program will apply to those outside Kane County as well. Lunch following the program will be provided to all attendees courtesy of our hosts, the Kane County Law Library & Self Help Legal Center.
