Come hear former FERC Commissioner Nora Brownell
Join Smart Grid Oregon and the CUB Policy Center for an exclusive reception for Nora Brownell
Smart Grid Oregon and CUB Policy Center are pleased to invite you to an exclusive reception at 5:30 PM, Thursday, October 20th, at the offices of Lane Powell, to meet Nora Brownell, former member of the Federal Regulatory Commission. FERC is the agency that oversees wholesale electric transactions and interstate electric transmission and gas transportation in the United States.
Ms. Brownell was nominated to be a FERC Commissioner on April 30, 2001 by President George W. Bush. She was confirmed by the United States Senate on May 25, 2001, for a term that expired June 30, 2006. Ms. Brownell’s tenure at the FERC reflects her longstanding and unwavering commitment to fostering competitive markets to serve the public interest. She championed the development of independent transmission organizations for wholesale power, which now represent the electricity market structure serving two-thirds of the U.S. $10 trillion economy.
Come join us for a lively evening as we discuss emerging architectures for a 21st century smart grid.
