About this event

Conflicts, the COVID-19 pandemic, and natural disasters are devastating global food systems and local economies, in turn impacting the global economy. As the economic recovery process begins, prioritizing initiatives that increase food security and enable smallholder farmers to mitigate and withstand crises is vital to spearheading a global economic recovery.

Featured panel of experts from the public and private sectors will include:

  • Antonina Broyaka: Extension associate, Department of Agricultural Economics, Kansas State University. Former dean of the faculty of economics and entrepreneurship, Vinnytsia National Agrarian University, Ukraine.
  • Mike Michener: Deputy assistant administrator, Bureau for Resilience and Food Security, USAID. Former administrator of the Foreign Agricultural Service, USDA.
  • Davit Kirvalidze: Former minister of agriculture, Republic of Georgia, and board director, CNFA, with development experience in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
  • Jay Vroom: Strategic advisor, agricultural development and former president and CEO, CropLife America, the national association for crop protection and biotechnology.
  • Moderator: Ed Keturakis, vice president, Program Development, CNFA.
