Event description

Description

Many churches, leaders and believers are grappling with the issues presented by an increasingly secular society.

The challenges are real and there is temptation to lose hope. However it’s key to remember that throughout the Church’s history it is at moments of challenge that the most exciting moves of God break out.

Even in the most secular of environments, there are churches that are flourishing. What is common to these churches are the following building blocks:

Word (a high view of scripture which leads us to live life in the kingdom, orienting our place in God’s salvation history),

Spirit (Lead and live life from the biblical principle of life in the Spirit),

Culture (can articulate, interpret and speak prophetically into contemporary culture),

Discipleship (are equipped in showing their people how to follow Jesus, and forming deep disciples and leaders),

Mission (Advancing the gospel throughout our neighbourhoods, cities and the nations)

and Movement (multiplying disciples, leaders and churches; fulfilling the great commission).

Rebuilders will be creating training seminars and events which equip churches to flourish in secular contexts by creating strong foundations out of these building blocks.

On September 1 and 2 2017, we will be running two seminars on the building block of Discipleship. We invite you and your team to join us in learning together what it is to follow Jesus today and form and multiply strong disciples.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 1: DISCIPLESHIP IN A SECULAR CULTURE

A day for Pastors and Leaders - a time for focused development around the issues of discipleship in contemporary culture.

Leadership today presents a number of unique challenges; from phones to commitment phobia, to entitlement and expectations in a transient environment. How do we create a culture which promotes spiritual formation and deep discipleship that subverts the challenges of this day? This seminar will offer an articulation of the challenges we face and ways forward to implement into your own life, leadership and churches.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 2: HOW TO LIVE THE WAY OF JESUS

Open to anyone looking at how to live the way of Jesus.

Contemporary culture promises us so much yet often leaves us dissatisfied and anxious. Jesus promises an abundant life through seeking first the Kingdom. How do we do this practically in a day and age like ours? In this seminar, we will show how the ancient way of Jesus is good news today.
