Event description

Description

When striving to kick-start your enterprise or advance your career, most of us can excel simply by moving fast, doing more, or striving for the next hurdle. But when you’re called upon to lead, it’s time to face your inner challenges, and grow into your full self. To get there, you might need a reboot.

Jerry Colonna will read from his debut book Reboot, revealing the critical links between growing up and becoming a leader, and why both depend upon radical self-inquiry. His insights can inspire any leader to evolve, or guide anyone in search of meaningful personal growth. He’ll also offer a rare window into why his “Reboot Bootcamps” are renowned for making founders and CEOs cry, helping leaders make peace with their inner demons, and identify some behavioral patterns that have helped them to succeed, yet can hinder their ability to lead.

Colonna will share founders’ journeys of startups ranging from Etsy to Gamesville, revealing how, like most of us, they were just busy with their achievements until they discovered the self-actualization needed to become effective leaders. He’ll reveal the two key steps to reboot your core operating and belief systems with fresh meaning:

  1. Stand still to power down -- stop just striving to keep busy to excel; and
  2. Radical Self-Inquiry – carefully look at yourself to discover who you really are and why.

With a no-holds-barred approach, and a blend of Buddhism, Jungian therapy, and entrepreneurial insight, Colonna shows how you can finally discard your baggage, find meaning, build healthy interpersonal bonds, and become the leader you were meant to be.
