Welcome to Rebels & Readers Author Event 2023!
Or otherwise referred to as Rebels or #RARAE!
This will be the 9th year of this event and it grows year after year.
This event is hosted in downtown Huntington, WV which is home to Marshall University. It is a quaint town with lots to offer. The Hilton Doubletree is the venue location and is located within walking distance of many shops & restaurants. This years event is being held Oct 27 & 28 due to the venue already being booked for our "normal" weekend which has always been the first weekend in November. Since we have this date this year of course we had to go with Halloween theme. Friday night will be our Friday Night Mixer that is always a fun ice breaker. It is held in the Grand Theatre room located behind the hotel bar. Cash bar, DJ and a host of fun is to be had! You can come as you are or dress in your favorite costume. The mixer takes place from 7P-11P. The author signing is Saturday Oct 28 on the 2nd floor of the hotel in the Grand Ballrooms. Meet new to you authors, grab some amazing books, take a photo or two and spend the day relaxing with a huge amount of like minded amazing people. The signing is as follows: VIP ticket holders enter an hour early from 11a-12p. General admission enters at 12:30p-4p. Every ticket holder will receive a ticket at registration for "5 Minutes to Heaven". I did this in 2022 and it was a huge hit. What is it you ask? I am personally DONATING my PERSONAL library. Some of these books are signed, some are not. Each ticket holder will get 5 minutes to enter the designated room and pick 5 books at a time. The room location and time of this will be announced closer to the event. However, you must be attending the signing in order to receive a ticket for entry. Once the signing is over, hit the town to discover what has become some of Rebels favorite places ie. Roosters, MU Cafe and we can't forget our favorite bar that has always taken care of us, Sharkey's and grab a famous fish bowl or 2!
