We invite you to attend our Day 30 Pitch Battle taking place in the amazing Bank of Ireland Workbench! The leading technologies of tomorrow will be showcased at this event and it gives investors unique insight by attending, meeting the founders and even getting the chance to back the future.

One of our judges is Andreas Jurgeit, investment director of Merck Ventures who will offer her insights and opinions on the emerging technologies showcased at the event!

The 15 companies are showcased below:

1. Kaitek Labs is developing a proprietary, rapid and ready-to-use toxin detection kit with an engineered bacterial biosensors.

2. Valanx Biotech is a university spin-out offering a patented method for high-efficiency protein conjugation for cancer drug targeting and other uses

3. Galactica Biotech is using a proprietary artificial intelligence-based service to match drug targets with new indications for drug repurposing

4. OaCP offers patented reagents for genomics applications, such as accelerating genetic tests for cancer diagnosis from 3 days to 2 hours

5. SexPositive works on a Point-of-Care diagnostic kit for rapid testing of sexually transmitted diseases at home, on the road and anywhere

6. NuLeaf Tech uses biomimetic engineering to create self-powered and ecologically integrated wastewater treatment systems for agricultural producers.

7. CyCa Oncosolutions is developing a proprietary, highly efficient membrane-drilling reagent for cell labelling and anticancer drug delivery.

8. SwaLife Biotech discovers, extracts and synthesizes novel anticancer plant alkaloids for cosmetics and medical use targeting DNA damage response

9. Khonsu Therapeutics is a University College Cork spin-out developing therapeutic proteins and gene therapies for neurodegenerative disorders such as ALS/ MND

10. Phyteau Functionals is developing innovative, safe and natural gut receptor agonists for effective management of weight and blood sugar levels.

11. PLANTeDIT develops non-transgenic food and a genome edited plant platform to produce bio-pharmaceuticals rapidly and cost-effectively

12. Cell-Free Tech are developing rapid-prototyping tools for protein and DNA synthesis with live monitoring

13. Alternative Plants produce cosmetic active ingredients from plant stem cell cultures.

14. Hemoalgae produces anticoagulant protein (Hirudin) using an optimized strain of microalgae

15. Canuevo is making functionalized micro-encapsulations as drug delivery vehicle and for cannabinoid nutritional supplements
