Join one of the creators of the paper clay movement for an exploration of this fascinating medium that bridges two craft worlds.

About this Event

In her artist talk, Rebecca will talk about how she discovered paper clay and how the movement and her own practice has grown. She will share with you photos from the amazing installations she has produced for museums around the world and talk about how she juggles a full time teaching career with prodigious studio work (hint: a summertime home and studio in Montana help.)

About Rebecca

Rebecca Hutchinson is a pioneer in the paper clay movement and is known for her large scale paper clay sculptures as well as her inclusive teaching style. She has exhibited widely, both nationally and internationally. She is a professor of ceramics at University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. A prolific studio artist, she spends her summers making at her Montana home and studio.

This talk is being held in conjunction with her 3 day workshop at Distric Clay.
