Join us at Realm HQ for two AWESOME Talks by two AWESOME Realm Devs. They will dive into the hot topics below and stick around to chat and answer all your questions!
Talk 1 - Event Handling in the Realm Object Server - Tim Oliver
Talk 2 - Mastering Realm Notifications - JP Simard
#1 Event Handling in the Realm Object Server -Tim Oliver
The event handling feature in the Realm Object Server allows servers to respond to changes in user data. This allows for implementing business logic in a similar vein to RESTful API calls, but with far less complexity. In this talk, we'll talk about how event handling in the Realm Object Server works, including an example app that interacts with a Google API.
#2 Mastering Realm Notifications -JP Simard
Realm takes a reactive, Objects-as-APIs approach to dealing with data. In this talk, we'll go over tips and tricks for building a variety of user interactions by building off a few primitive Realm notification concepts. We'll cover Interface-Driven Writes, asynchronous vs synchronous query computation, how to architect your app to handle changes that can occur at arbitrary times and how all of this ties into the Realm Mobile Platform.
6:00pm - Doors Open
6:30 - 7:00pm: Refreshments and food. Food will include options for omnivores, vegans, and gluten-free folks. We will not be serving alcohol at this meetup, but we'll have plenty of soda options.
7:00pm: Presentation + Q&A.
We welcome you to stay and chat afterwards!
