Event description

Description

A hallmark of a successful Agile effort should include the quick, iterative, validated delivery of business value, but that is not often the case. Why? Because it can be challenging to define business value since it is often nebulous and contextual (specific circumstances) and variable (subject to external and internal forces).

Develop this essential ability by learning how to define value for a given context, communicate that value and provide some validation metrics and mechanisms by mastering experience mapping and impact mapping techniques.

This workshop helps participants to visually articulate their unique service value proposition with techniques that enable the transition from “why” to “how” – aligning strategic goals with tactical business and/or team actions.

Learning Objectives

  • Explore the “root” business problem to be solved by using an experience map to envision your business context from your customer’s or user’s point of view.

  • Develop shared understanding of the “root” business problem and convert that knowledge into a goal that represents a viable solution for that problem.

  • Identify all of the stakeholders who can help you achieve or fail to reach this goal.

  • Capture multiple avenues to achieve that goal by expanding your canvas of options. Explore the options and assumptions.

  • Prioritize the options to determine which experiments represent the most ROI. Represent decisions in the form of product and project roadmaps.

  • Convert selected experiments into high-value user stories for Agile teams.

Who Should Attend

Product owners, product managers, business stakeholders, Agile coaches and Scrum Masters, business analysts – anyone with the responsibility of representing the customer in working with Agile teams.

Because of the highly personalized, experiential nature of this workshop, attendance is limited to 8 people.

Attendees are expected to have worked with Agile teams for about two years, so that they are familiar with the basics of Agile development and delivery. If you have any connections about your suitability for this session, please contact us for more details.
