Event description

Description

To every other "average," healthy, American woman tired of silly, stigmatizing, social constructs that title her as "plus" instead of equal and worth pants: You're not alone. I'm excited to finally discover clothing that nurtures, not manipulates, my restored body shape. We deserve it.

New shopping best friend Josee Layne Kruse and I are determined to conquer my greatest, scariest self-care need: Jeans. For over a year now, I haven't found or worn pants that fit. Oh, I searched, but I couldn't find any, which is very much disordered.

In my Attic or Ivory Closet, I am important. I find appropriately made pieces so virtually any of my siblings can rock the same piece. There are no sections, I can focus less on labels and more on comfort. I don't feel like the outcast shopper limited to the rear wall AKA maternity, plus size and clearance item section. My siblings and I fit onto the same racks in the same store.

Best of all: My professional photographer and favorite gal pal Natalie Eddings will capture the recovery milestone for the second piece in the Real Womanhood Project series. I'm honored to have Josee, Natalie, the Attic and Ivory Closet encourage my ongoing body restoration by partnering in my mission to use art as an educational mental health awareness tool.
