Join us for the latest in a series of presentations and discussions from local entrepreneurs and academics, investigating emerging topics of interest to big picture thinkers and local entrepreneurs, alike.

Dan Rosenberg, the co-founder of Real Pickles, will present a case study of raising capital through a direct public offering not to simply raise capital for the business, but to finance a cooperative ownership conversion. Dan and his partner Addie Rose Holland became inspired to start making traditional pickles at a 1999 Northeast Organic Farming Association conference workshop. Today that hobby has grown into Real Pickles, which uses Northeast sourced produce to make raw, organic, naturally fermented pickles and other organic products, like sauerkraut and ginger carrots, which are sold at retail outlets around the Northeast.

We will also hear an academic analysis on the state of local investing, how this case study integrates into the concepts of the New Economy and how Dan and the Real Pickles Story can inform our modeling of New Economy entreprises.
