The Public Trust Doctrine In California Law: What It Means for the Future of the San Francisco Waterfront

During the last decade, the City has seen large new waterfront developments. Many more are planned including Pier 70, the Warriors stadium and India Basin. SF Port Commissioner and former SF Supervisor Leslie Katz, Esq. will discuss the how the Public Trust Doctrine affects these and other projects.

Commissioner Leslie Katz was appointed to the San Francisco Port Commission by Mayor Edwin M. Lee. She served as President of the Port Commission in 2014 and 2015. Ms. Katz has also served as an elected member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.

Ms. Katz serves on the boards of numerous community and non-profit organizations including the Victory Campaign Board, Equality California Institute, and New Leaders Council. She is a graduate of Leadership America and Leadership California. Ms. Katz holds a Juris Doctor degree from Hastings College of the Law, University of California and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.
