Join us Friday April 14 for this In Person Program with Andy Morrison.

Andy Morrison, Vice President, KU Endowment Association, will provide details on real estate gifting opportunities and options for donors and your organization.

While the real estate market has slowed down with the increase in mortgage interest rates, there is still plenty of gifting options and opportunities for donors who own primary residences, rental properties, vacation properties, farms, or commercial properties. Perhaps there is a way for donors to gift these assets to your organization, avoid long term capital gains, be eligible to take a charitable income tax deduction, and receive an income stream for life. Or perhaps they would like to gift real estate to make an immediate impact on your mission.

  • Are you and your development staff prepared to have these discussions with prospects?
  • Are you listening for the ques and asking the right questions?
  • Is your organization in a position to analyze the risks and potential rewards and ultimately accept or reject the gift?

Andy will go over the various real estate gifting strategies and vehicles, as well as discuss the due diligence process your organization should implement when presented with these opportunities.
