Description

This class lasts 4 weeks.

Do words fascinate you? Do you find verses forming in your head? Participants will learn about the fundamental elements of poetry through critical reading; study various classic forms of poetry; see how contemporary poets adapt today; and write their own poetry through guided prompts. The course includes workshop sessions which allows you to improve your craft by sharing your work with other participants for constructive feedback.

About Your Instructor

Cassie Lipp earned her BA from UC in English and Journalism, with a concentration in poetry. She is the recipient of the 2016 Jean Chimsky Poetry Prize and her work has been published in UC's undergraduate literary journal Short Vine. When she's not writing and teaching poetry, she is writes for CityBeat and Cincy Magazine. She is currently working on Queen City Records, a book about Cincinnati-area record stores.
