Event description

Description

LLILAS Benson Latin American Studies and Collections of the University of Texas at Austin will be celebrating the conclusion of our “Reading the First Books” project, a two-year collaborative effort to develop tools for the automatic transcription of early modern, multilingual printed books, generously funded by the NEH Office of Digital Humanities.

In addition to unveiling the developed tools, interfaces, and datasets, the symposium will bring together invited scholars, librarians, software developers, and students for a day-long conversation on the themes of digital scholarship, early modern history, and Latin American studies.

You can find the conference program here.

Lunch will be served with RSVP. Registration closes Monday, May 29.
