Karima Vargas Bushnell, The Life & Times of Halycon Sage or The Last Book Ever Published
About the Book
Halycon Sage, founder of the post-modernist minimalist neo-symbolist pseudo-realist school of literature, has voluntarily disappeared. He is hoping to save the world, but is also fleeing the Mail Pile.
Sage, a person of mystery who may be a Native American male, meets some odd characters: petulant critic Basel Vasselschnauzer, confused genius Alexander Preisczech, a Gypsy, assorted gang members and secret agents, and a shadowy figure of evil. Sage has a faithful equine companion, No-Name Stupid (the original "Horse with No Name.") But even with Stupid's dedicated assistance, can the great quest succeed? And will Boo Radley Goes Hawaiian ever be written?
“The Life and Times of Halycon Sage has the stirring immediacy of a guitar riff.” – BlueInk Review
"Is it genius? Is it nonsense? Sage may be the last person to know . . . .This deliciously funny, madcap novel leaps with a frenetic energy reminiscent mid-1960s postmodernism." - Kirkus Reviews
“So tightly wrapped and profoundly structured that I’m sure I missed at least 14 significant clues as to the REAL meaning of the narrative!” – a Reader
"I love the picture painted of the Nevada areas I have lived in and visited - right on." - a Reader
"Loved, loved, loved this book. Metafiction, perhaps? A book about books. Perfect bibliophile book." - a Reader

Join us for a light-hearted celebration with author Karima Vargas Bushnell and friends as she shares a reading from her new book. It's hard to explain just why you don't want to miss it, but trust us, you don't want to miss it!
Of course, there will be wonderful hors d'ouevres, refreshments, and rumor has it there may be a kind of western style stand-off which may just force you to choose which of the delightful characters from the book has chosen the best refreshment for the evening...
There will also be surprises you might just take home with you - but we're not telling. You'll just have to join us to see for yourself.
Although you won't need a printed or formal ticket, we would really appreciate it if you would register to let us know you'll be joining us - we don't want to run out of surprises, books and of course, delicious refreshments!
One more thing. You may have noticed something a little odd about the image on this web page, besides the fact that it forced us to show only one part of the actual book cover (thanks Eventbrite, sigh!). Two small, silver nanobots are making their second appearance on this website, and we may be able to convince them to join us live in Minneapolis. These guys are in the book, believe it or not, and we hope you'll come and meet them, and find out what on earth they have to do with The Last Book Ever Published!
Books available at the event, and online at www.halyconsage1.com, and Amazon.com
If you cannot join us live, we'd really appreciate your help in getting the word out to anyone you know who might enjoy it, and of course we'd love it if you would visit the author's Facebook page to say hello, and add a Like if you feel inspired: https://www.facebook.com/Author-Karima-Vargas-Bushnell-218289695188591/
