Reading and Understanding Construction Drawings (Basic Blueprint Reading)

This 8-hour class takes place on Friday, March 17th, from 7:30am-3:30pm
Reading and understanding construction drawings is at the heart of the construction experience. This one-day compressed training approach exposes participants to the basic elements and nomenclature of construction drawings and specifications. It considers both the plan set in general and the various disciplines.
•What do the lines and abbreviations mean and how are they used?
•Similarities and differences between various discipline drawings.
•How plans and specifications work together.
•Explore the “road map” and get comfortable navigating a set of plans
•Civil - Architectural - Electrical - Plumbing - Mechanical
All construction personnel wanting basic plan reading knowledge and skills
What to expect:
•Navigate commercial plans and specifications
•Follow the ‘roadmaps’ to get to information
•Read various plan and detail notes
•Understand the various views
•Understand what various schedules are and how to use them
•Perform basic plan takeoff
•See how plans and specs work together

Class parking is located in the lot behind the building. If the gate (to the right of the building) is open, please park in back.
CANCELLATION POLICY: To receive a refund, you must provide 48 business-hours’ notice of cancellation. If you are tuition-covered, PLEASE NOTE your training funds can only pay for your tuition if you attend the entire class and receive your certificate. If you do not cancel within the required time or do not show up for or complete the course, you or your company (whoever registers you for the course) will be responsible for the full tuition.
