About this event
STEM FOCUS: Engineering Processes, Inventions
STEM inspiration with diverse books, and the fun of having kids use all kinds of materials to solve a special STEM challenge is our idea of summer fun. "Ingenious - Genes-N-Us" is the 8th of the Readers, Makers, and Shakers 2022summer programs. And what's more, we mail your child a Maker's Kit to use for the program!
We will use the book "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind," a story about Malawian inventor William Kamkwamba, as our inspiration. Children will make a windmill with true spinning parts. In each program we honor children's effort, creativity, and celebrate their ability to solve and work through problems. These are traits of STEM stars.
