Let's create a front-end React Component that exchanges the contents of a 3rd party Web Database service using Express as a proxy.

About this event

** Please note that the day of this event has been changed from May 20th to May 27th. **

In this 2 hour workshop, you'll walk away with a React project that retrieves data from and uploads data to Kintone, a web database service.

We'll walk you through the basics of REST API calls and CORS, usage of State and Effect Hooks, setting up an Express back-end, and using it as a proxy.

① Sign-Up for Developer Program Account (Website) 🌐

② THEN Create a Kintone Subdomain (Database) 📂

💾 Install Node & npm

  • Node ≥ 10.16 and npm ≥ 5.6 are required for this workshop
  • Installing Node.js
  • *When you download Node.js, you automatically get npm installed on your computer.
